About Edel Doyle

Edel Doyle GC (IntImgPrac), BSc (Radiog), Dip (HlthServMgmt), PC (ForRadiog), MSc (ForMed), MSc (ForRadiog), MSc (CompTomog) is a successful consultant with Health Business Solutions.

Edel Doyle has been actively involved in quality management and audit activities since graduating as a radiographer in Dublin in 2005.

Since joining Lumus Imaging’s National Quality and Governance Team in 2021, she has played a key role in advancing quality and accreditation initiatives across the organisation, including leading the successful corporate DIAS accreditation submission for 135 private imaging centres in 2024.

Edel holds postgraduate qualifications in Forensic Medicine, Forensic Radiography, and Computed Tomography (CT), and recently completed her PhD. With more than 20 years of experience in medical imaging, she has worked across clinical, leadership, and governance roles, including as a CT Supervisor and, more recently, National Quality Governance Supervisor.

Edel is passionate about strengthening quality systems and embedding a culture of continuous improvement within healthcare. She is particularly enthusiastic about the introduction of the new Medical Imaging Accreditation Standards in 2028 and is optimistic that they will further support the integration of patient safety and person-centred care as fundamental elements of everyday practice.
